Conversation with my Partner

My partner and I discussed the subjects we picked for our blogs. She opted to write about digital dentistry, highlighting how it assists in every dental procedure and its role in safeguarding the environment. Her second topic is about an educational approach called competency-based education, which is focused on ensuring students learn and demonstrate specific skills and competencies instead of just completing assignments or attending classes. Unlike the traditional education system that places importance on time spent in the classroom, competency-based education emphasizes the student's abilities and comprehension. After reading her blog posts, I gained a clearer understanding of the subjects she selected.

As Education continues to evolve, AI technology is emerging as a notable trend. This article explores the growing advancements of AI and its potential application in this field. An interesting point to note is that AI in Education is predicted to experience a considerable increase of 48% in the US. The benefits of AI technology in education are immeasurable - it can facilitate access to learning opportunities, personalize learning experiences, and enhance learning outcomes. However, some have suggested replacing teachers with AI robots, which raises concerns for some individuals, even though it is already a reality in some American classrooms. Nonetheless, AI technology presents a promising potential in improving education. Interestingly, I wondered being a nurse about the potential detrimental effects of the decrease in brain activity in individuals, and if working independently instead of in groups could lead to depression, loneliness, social isolation, and other mental health concer...

The pandemic made teaching technology better and more accessible from my own home. With Zoom, I didn't have to miss any of my classes and was able to keep up with my studies. If it weren't for Zoom, I would've struggled to stay on track with my education. The article talks about a study that looked at what students in the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Trinidad and Tobago think about taking classes using Zoom. The study found that some students like using Zoom, while others prefer face-to-face classes or a mix of both. The article shows that Zoom is being used more in education and that teachers need to think about what works best for their students and how comfortable they are with using technology. https://d1wqtxts1xzle7.cloudfront.net/87472023/1344-libre.pdf?1655165891=&response-content-disposition=inline%3B+filename%3DPerspectives_of_Prospective_Teachers_on.pdf&Expires=1710462350&Signature=F~Em6NigyepjtU7Z-6VF64Br~3E2AYa72pfOlElj1KG~3JVNI...

Trends in my Field

Trends in my Field The nursing industry is currently facing a shortage of nurses, which demands a closer look into the underlying factors contributing to this trend. One of the primary reasons for the shortage is the aging population. As they require more healthcare services, there is a heightened demand for long-term care nurses. Additionally, there is a lack of nursing faculty, leading to enrollment limitations and declining program quality. This shortage takes a toll on nurses, causing them to experience severe burnout due to being overworked, stressed, and unfulfilled. Further compounded by nurse turnover, which leads to increased staffing ratios and negatively impacts patient outcomes. To address the nursing shortage, it’s essential to empower and support nurses. One way to do this is by offering proper staffing ratios, enabling job satisfaction and reducing turnover rates. Integrating technology and providing clinical workflow knowledge is another way to equip nurses for suc...

About me

A little about me My name is Kian and I have a unique background to share. Originally from Germany, I spent my early years there before migrating to Canada in 2008.  I have been actively working as a licensed practical nurse for the past five years. Presently, I am enrolled in an Advanced BSN program alongside the new PDIP 3100 course, which I am excited about as I see it as an opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skills in teaching. My career aspiration is to become a teacher and I believe this course will be instrumental in helping me achieve that goal. Some of my hobbies are going for walks by the beach, working out, and traveling. I am also a mother of my 11-month-old baby.
